Spokane S.N.I.P is a collaborative effort among veterinary professionals, rescue organizations, and local humane and animal control agencies. We strive to offer high-quality spay/neuter services to our community at low or no cost. Spay/neuter is the only solution to decrease the number of homeless dogs and cats, and our community is currently facing a crisis of overpopulation. By working together and combining resources, we are able to offer pop-up style clinics in our community. Since this is a collaborative effort, these clinics function a little differently. Here are some things to expect:
All appointments must be made through our website. Once we’ve gathered our resources and secured a location, we will announce the time and location of our next clinic through a news release and social media. A Registration link will appear on our homepage, directing you to our appointment scheduling system. You will need a credit/debit card to pay the $25 appointment fee, which is refundable or can be donated to fund future clinics. Donating the $25 helps keep this program going. Once you’ve made your appointment, you will receive an email confirmation with directions and instructions. Please use a valid email address to ensure you receive all necessary information. You can also familiarize yourself with the post-op care instructions here if you have any questions or concerns please ask our medical staff at check-in.
Your dog only needs a collar and a leash; no vest or harnesses, please. We will use a secure slip lead for your pet during their stay with us. Please give your pet the opportunity to potty before getting in the car to come to the clinic.
Drop-off: Your confirmation will include drop-off and pick-up times. When you arrive, pay close attention to the specified entrance road/street. There will be signs directing you to the check-in line. You and your pet will stay in the car following staff instructions until you reach the intake area. There, a team will help you lead your dog to the intakearea, where they will be weighed and receive a brief exam by our medical staff. The medical staff may have some questions about your pet. Once the exam is complete, you will say goodbye for the day, and our staff will escort your dog to its waiting kennel.
Pick-up: You will be given a pick-up time at drop-off. We will NOT be able to call you when your pet is ready, but we will have your number to contact you if there is an issue or concern. You need to pick up your pet at the designated time, where you will receive post-op instructions, pain medication, an e-collar, and your precious pet. Your pet must be transported in a temperature-regulated space for their return home due to the effects of anesthesia.
You will be given post-op instructions. Please read and follow them carefully. We will provide complimentary treatment for any post-operative complications resulting directly from the surgery, provided the post-operative instructions have been followed in full. Your regular veterinarian should address illnesses or injuries not directly related to the surgery. Please text or call for an appointment as soon as you see cause for concern. We cannot be held responsible for complications resulting from failure to follow post-operative instructions or from contagious diseases for which the animal was not previously properly vaccinated. To avoid confusion and delays in assistance, please only contact the number provided for post-op concerns. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, seek immediate emergency medical attention.
Spokane S.N.I.P does not have 24-hour emergency or on-call service.
